Marlene Skog may be a new name for Chicago audiences, however this internationally acclaimed artist has carved a unique niche in the world of dance for her luscious choreography and innovative vision. With work recently described as, "from start to finish, a fascinating evening of dance... striking," (Capital Times), Skog's subtle elegance comes to life on stage in an unusual juxtaposition of contemporary ballet and spoken word. Mosaic is an expertly crafted evening of short dance narratives that mine the experience of displacement and diaspora. Set against a backdrop of original music and resonant poetry, Skog weaves together expressive solos and thrilling ensemble work to create a very real and relevant Mosaic of the human experience. Danced by a talented cast hailing from three cities, Skog has created a vibrant evening that is sure to leave a lasting impression.
